Cundall have had unique experience working within the retail sector on such projects as:

  • Rouse Hill retail development using an advanced approach to outdoor comfort levels in unenclosed Malls.
  • Centrepoint development with centralised cogeneration and site wide black water treatment strategies.
Cundall are currently working on five other Westfield retail developments including Pacific Fair in the Gold Coast down to Casey Central in Victoria.

green basketTim is a principle at Cundall and started work in Australia 12 years ago on Federation Square where he worked on one of the world’s largest underground concrete cooling systems called the labyrinth, the SES headquarters on the South Bank and a number of projects at Deakin University. Tim will be covering the following items in his presentation :

  • What are the options for rating a new, existing and/or extension to a retail centre?
  • How would Green Star impact a standard retail development- what are the challenges?
  • What are the challenges with BCA section J and where is the NABERS energy and water rating at?
  • Are outdoor non air conditioned Malls feasible?
  • Retail fit out Green Guides?
  • International trends for sustainability in retail!

Tim will keep the session practical and informative and looks forward to sharing his experience of integrating sustainability into Tim sets the record straight on why engineering inspires him, it's "because we put art back into what is often seen as dull. We create invisible architecture - we help celebrate a forgotten art."

"Positioned at the forefront of sustainability in the built environment, Cundall takes a refreshingly positive approach to design, fostering collaboration that is second to none. Driven by the consideration of people, design, environment and technology, Cundall have proven that "going green" and commercial pragmatism can happily coexist."
